At Yarndogs, we believe strongly in the blending of the knitting community and the larger community in which we live.

On the last Sunday of each month, we hold our Stitching for Good gathering, where knitters and crocheters drop in any time during our regular hours hours to create hats and blankets for cancer patients and the homeless. Just bring your needles or hooks and knit with yarn that Yarndogs and its generous customers have donated.

Participants receive a 10% discount on yarn purchases that day.

Upcoming events include:
— creating scarves to be auctioned for breast cancer research
— collecting items for local battered women’s shelters
— creating stuffed animals for children of women housed at women’s shelter.
